History
Rava idli is widely credited to Bengaluru’s Mavalli Tiffin Rooms (MTR), which says it created the dish when rice was scarce during the Second World War.
Significance
It is a classic breakfast of Bengaluru’s tiffin rooms and a quick home breakfast, since it needs no grinding or overnight fermenting.
