CJP protested against the Centre over NEET but was slow on Jharkhand's exam protests: consistency or double standard?

Sensitive topic: please argue respectfully. Extra moderation applies.

The CJP led protests in Delhi against the Union Government over the NEET-UG paper leak allegations. In July–August 2026, students in Ranchi protested over alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and other recruitment exams. Jharkhand is governed by the JMM–Congress alliance. Critics said the CJP's response there was slow and lukewarm; its founder then said the party would stand with the students, and a CJP delegation reached Ranchi in August 2026, though the founder himself did not go, citing health reasons.

The case that it is a double standard

  • A movement against paper leaks should protest just as strongly when an opposition-ruled State faces similar allegations.
  • The delay fed claims that the movement is aligned with some parties.

The case that it is not

  • The CJP did extend support and sent a delegation to Ranchi.
  • A young movement with limited resources cannot be everywhere at once.

Questions to discuss

  • Should citizen movements be judged by whether they treat all governments alike?
  • What would a consistent stand on paper leaks look like, for every party?
