Police in the Chicago suburbs said they thwarted a possible mass shooting and arrested a 19-year-old from Palatine, Illinois, who they said may have planned to target a Hindu place of worship. He faces felony charges of making a terrorist threat and unlawfully possessing weapons; a court ordered him detained. Reports say police found a manifesto with white-supremacist ideas and references to violence against people of Indian descent. The intended target has been reported as the Sri Venkateswara (Balaji) temple in Aurora, but police said it was not confirmed.

These are charges, not a conviction. This is linked as an instance of racism against Indians overseas.
